Viburnum jam with sugar

To prepare such a winter blank, you will need:

  • 1 kg of viburnum;
  • 1.3 kg of granulated sugar;
  • 250 ml of water.

To make jam, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Wash the viburnum and dry the berries.
  2. Blanch the fruits in boiling water for a few minutes.
  3. Dissolve sugar in warm water to make syrup.
  4. Pour the sugar syrup over the berries and stir.
  5. Leave the candied viburnum for 10-12 hours at room temperature.
  6. Now the jam needs to be brought to a boil, periodically skimming off the foam. After that, pour the hot workpiece into sterile jars.

As mentioned above, not everyone can eat red viburnum in its pure form, but there are excellent recipes where this berry acts as a fragrant additive.

For viburnum-apple jam, you need the following ingredients:

  • 2 kg of berries;
  • 5 kg of any apples (it is better to take sweet or sweet and sour fruits);
  • 5 kg of granulated sugar.

Cook jam just:

  1. Remove the washed viburnum from the twigs and put it in a wide bowl or saucepan.

Making jam from viburnum is very simple:

  1. The berries are sorted out and washed in a saline solution. The solution is prepared from a liter of water and a tablespoon of ordinary table salt.
  2. Now you need to prepare sugar syrup: dissolve sugar in water and bring the mass to a boil.
  3. Whole viburnum berries are placed in boiling syrup, turn off the stove and leave the jam to cool for 5-6 hours.
  4. Remove the zest from the lemon and squeeze the juice.

Unusual pumpkin jam

Such a preparation for the winter will definitely appeal to fans of culinary experiments, because pumpkin and red berries of fragrant viburnum are combined here. For this extraordinary jam you will need:

  • 1 kg of viburnum;
  • 1 kg pumpkin;
  • 1.5 kg of sugar;
  • 1 liter of water.

Prepare the dish like this:

  1. Whole bunches are washed and cleaned of debris and leaves.
  2. The pumpkin is peeled and cut into small cubes, which are simply boiled lightly with the addition of water.
  3. Pumpkin and viburnum, together with twigs, are ground with a blender or minced with a meat grinder.
  4. Sugar is poured into the resulting puree and wait several hours until it completely dissolves.
  5. It remains to cook the jam, stirring it and removing the foam. Usually 40 minutes is enough on low heat.

Ready-made guelder-rose jam is laid out in jars and rolled up or closed with sealed lids.

Viburnum syrup

It is very good to add bright viburnum syrup to ice cream, jelly or cakes. It is easy to cook, you just need to take water, berries and sugar. It is advisable to blanch the berries, then chop and stir with sugar.

The mass is boiled over low heat until the sugar is completely dissolved, after which you can add a little lemon juice and bottle the syrup.

Viburnum pastila

Children are very fond of this delicacy, and if we prepare marshmallow with viburnum, it becomes not only tasty, but also incredibly useful. For the marshmallow, you need washed berries, sugar and lemon juice or citric acid.

It is better to use a juicer to get the juice. The berries are passed through it, the juice is poured into a bowl with a thick or double bottom and boiled until the consistency of berry puree is obtained.
