The attitude towards canned green tomatoes is ambiguous. Some people like them, others not very much. But spicy salad will appeal to everyone, especially men. This appetizer is an excellent option for meat, fish dishes and poultry. After all, there is so much "spark" in it that any food tastes better.

All these epithets refer to the Cobra salad of green tomatoes for the winter. Moreover, there are no difficulties in cooking, but the range of blanks for the winter will increase significantly.

Cobra salad options

The cobra salad, which requires green or brown tomatoes, is spiced up with garlic and hot peppers. There are various ways to prepare snacks for the winter, and we will tell you about them.

With sterilization

Option 1

To prepare a spicy Cobra salad for the winter, we will need:

  • 1 kg 500 grams of green tomatoes;
  • 2 heads of garlic;
  • 2 hot peppers (chili can be used to add "fiery" spiciness);
  • 60 grams of granulated sugar;
  • 75 grams of non-iodized salt;
  • 50 ml of vegetable oil;
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar essence;
  • 2 lavrushkas;
  • 10 peas of black and allspice or a prepared mixture of ground peppers.
The subtleties of cooking
  1. Soak green tomatoes for two hours in cold water to remove the bitterness. Then we thoroughly wash each fruit and put it on a clean towel to dry. After that, let's start slicing. From large tomatoes we get about 8 slices, and from small ones - 4.
  2. We spread the slices of green tomatoes in a wide bowl so that it is convenient to mix, add half a spoonful of salt and set aside for two hours. During this time, the vegetable will give juice. This procedure is necessary to get rid of the bitterness.
  3. While the green tomatoes are infused, let's turn to the garlic and peppers. For garlic, we remove the upper scales and thin films, and for peppers we cut off the tail, and leave the seeds. After that, we wash the vegetables. You can use a garlic press or a fine grater to chop the garlic. As for hot pepper, according to the recipe, you need to cut it into rings. If the peppers are large, then cut each ring in half.

    Perform all operations with hot pepper in medical gloves so as not to burn your hands.
  4. Drain the juice released from the green tomatoes, add garlic and pepper, lavrushka, the rest of the salt, granulated sugar and a mixture of peas. Then pour in the vegetable oil and mix gently so as not to damage the integrity of the slices. Since one of the ingredients of Cobra salad is hot pepper, it is not recommended to stir it with bare hands. You can perform this procedure with a large spoon or wear rubber gloves.
  5. Having tasted the Cobra salad for salt, add this spice if necessary. We leave for half an hour to infuse and sterilize cans and lids. It is best to use half-liter jars. As for the covers, both screw and tin ones are suitable.
  6. We fill the salad of green Cobra tomatoes into hot jars, add juice to the top and cover with lids.
  7. Put sterilize in a pot of hot water, spreading a towel on the bottom. From the moment the water boils, we hold liter jars for a third of an hour, and for half-liter jars, 10 minutes is enough.

The removed jars are immediately hermetically sealed, put on the lid and wrapped in a fur coat. After a day, the cooled Cobra salad from green tomatoes can be removed to a cold place. Good appetite!

Option 2

According to the recipe, we need:

  • 2 kg 500 grams of green or brown tomatoes;
  • 3 cooking garlic;
  • 2 hot chili pods;
  • 1 bunch of fresh parsley
  • 100 ml of table vinegar;
  • 90 grams of granulated sugar and salt.

The preparation of vegetables is the same as in the first recipe. After cutting vegetables, mix them with chopped parsley, sugar, salt and vinegar. We leave the composition until the crystals completely dissolve and the juice appears. After transferring the green tomato salad to the jars, we sterilize it.

Without sterilization

Option 1 - "Raw" Cobra salad

Attention! Cobra according to this recipe is not boiled or sterilized.

The appetizer, as always, turns out to be very spicy and tasty. To prepare a salad of tomatoes that have not had time to blush, you need the following ingredients:

  • green or brown tomatoes - 2 kg 600 grams;
  • garlic - 3 heads;
  • sprigs of fresh parsley - 1 bunch;
  • sugar and salt 90 grams each;
  • table vinegar - 145 ml;
  • hot pepper - several pods, depending on taste preferences.
Advice! Take salt that is not iodized, otherwise the finished product will be spoiled.
  1. Cut the washed and peeled tomatoes into slices, cut the hot pepper into slices, removing the seeds first, otherwise the snack will be so fiery that it will be impossible to eat it. Then chop the parsley and garlic.
  2. We put all the ingredients in a large saucepan and mix, then sugar, salt, pour in the vinegar. Let it brew for two hours so that the juice has time to stand out, and then put the Cobra salad in pre-sterilized jars, adding juice to the top. We close it with ordinary plastic lids and put it in the refrigerator.

Attention! You can take a sample and treat your homemade spicy Cobra salad for the winter, made from green tomatoes, after 14 days.

Option 2 - Fierce Cobra

An appetizer of green or brown tomatoes, according to the recipe below, will appeal to lovers of very spicy salads. Although the pungency is somewhat reduced due to sweet and sour apples and sweet bell peppers.

What products will have to be stocked up in advance:

  • green tomatoes - 2 kg 500 grams;
  • salt - 2 tablespoons with a slide;
  • apples - 500 grams;
  • sweet bell peppers - 250 grams;
  • hot pepper (pods) - 70 grams;
  • onions - 500 grams;
  • vegetable oil - 150 grams;
  • garlic - 100 grams.
Important! Cobra green tomato salad for the winter is also prepared without sterilization.

Cooking steps

  1. We clean and wash the vegetables, let the water drain. Peel the apples, cut out the core with seeds. Cut off the tails of the peppers and shake out the seeds. Remove the upper scales from the onion and garlic.
  2. Cut green tomatoes, apples and sweet bell peppers into pieces and pass through a fine-perforated meat grinder. Then put it in a deep container with a thick bottom, pour in oil, salt. We put on the stove under the lid and simmer over low heat for 60 minutes.
  3. While the vegetable and fruit mass is being prepared, dare hot pepper and garlic. When an hour has passed, add these ingredients to the Cobra salad, mix and boil for about four minutes.
  4. Put the hot appetizer in prepared sterile jars and roll up with glass or tin lids. Make it up on the table and wrap it up with a towel. In a day, when the Cobra salad has completely cooled down for the winter, we put it in the refrigerator. You can serve an appetizer with any meal.
Warning! Cobra salad is contraindicated for children and people with gastrointestinal problems.
