White eggplant varieties

Reviews of gardeners

Daria Zabotina, 40 years old, Klimovo

I have been growing eggplants for many years. Previously, I mainly chose purple varieties. They taste a little bitter, so they soaked them in salted water before cooking. And this year, on the advice of a neighbor, she planted two white varieties: Gentle and Swan. Both those and other eggplants were born of a snow-white color, however, the fruits of the first grade were slightly larger, but in general I was very pleased with the harvest. And the main thing is that white eggplants do not taste bitter at all, which allows them to be cooked without preliminary processing.
Tamara Shestakova, 36 years old, Smolensk

Last year I planted the Pelican variety. Compared to the "blue" varieties, I did not notice any peculiarities in cultivation, everything is as always. But at the same time, the yield of white eggplants turned out to be much higher than that of purple ones, although they grew in equal conditions. The eggplant tastes great, does not taste bitter at all, the flesh is very tender. Next year I plan to plant Pelican seeds again, and some other white eggplant variety instead of a purple vegetable.
