Description

Like any hybrid, the f1 Tufted Splendor was obtained by crossing two varietal cucumbers endowed with certain qualities. This allowed breeders to develop a first generation hybrid with an amazing yield, which reaches 40 kg from 1 m2 land. Such a high yield was obtained due to the bundle ovary and parthenocarpicity of the cucumber. So, in one bunch, from 3 to 7 ovaries can be formed simultaneously. All of them are fertile, female type. For pollination of flowers, the cucumber does not require the participation of insects or humans.

Variety "Sheaf splendor f1" is the brainchild of the Ural agricultural firm and is adapted for cultivation in the climatic conditions of the Urals and Siberia. Open and protected grounds, tunnels are suitable for the cultivation of cucumber. At the same time, the culture is especially demanding for watering, feeding, loosening, weeding. In order for a cucumber of this variety to be able to fully bear fruit, in the required volume with timely ripening of fruits, the cucumber bush should be formed.

Cucumbers of the "Bunch splendor f1" variety belong to the category of gherkins. Their length does not exceed 11 cm. The shape of the cucumbers is even, cylindrical. On their surface, shallow tubercles can be observed, the tops of the cucumbers are narrowed. The color of the fruit is light green, with small light stripes along the cucumber. Cucumber thorns are white.

Taste qualities of cucumbers of the "Buchkovoe splendor f1" variety are very high. They do not contain bitterness, their fresh aroma is pronounced. The pulp of the cucumber is dense, tender, juicy, has an amazing, sweetish taste. The crunch of the vegetable remains even after heat treatment, canning, salting.

Benefits of cucumbers

In addition to high yield, excellent taste of cucumbers and self-pollination, the variety "Bunch splendor f1", in comparison with other varieties, has a number of advantages:

  • excellent tolerance to sudden temperature changes;
  • cold resistance;
  • suitable for low-lying areas with frequent fog formation;
  • resistance to common cucumber diseases (powdery mildew, cucumber mosaic virus, brown spot);
  • long fruiting period, up to autumn frosts;
  • collection of fruits in the amount of 400 cucumbers from one bush per season.

Having cited the advantages of the cucumber variety, it is worth mentioning its disadvantages, which include the exactingness of the plant in care and the relatively high cost of seeds (a package of 5 seeds costs about 90 rubles).

Growing stages

The given bunchy variety of cucumbers is early maturing, its fruits ripen in 45-50 days from the day of sowing the seed in the ground. In order to bring the moment of harvesting as close as possible, the seeds are germinated before sowing.

Seed germination

Before germinating cucumber seeds, they must be disinfected.It is possible to remove harmful microorganisms from the surface of the seed using a manganese or saline solution, by short soaking (the seeds are placed in the solution for 20-30 minutes).

After processing, the cucumber seeds are ready for germination. To do this, they are laid out between two patches of damp cloth, the nursery is placed in a plastic bag and left in a warm place (ideal temperature 270FROM). After 2-3 days, sprouts can be observed on the seeds.

Sowing seeds for seedlings

For sowing seeds for seedlings, it is better to use peat pots or peat tablets. It will not be necessary to extract the plant from them, since peat decomposes perfectly in the ground and serves as a fertilizer. In the absence of special containers, small containers can be used to grow cucumber seedlings.

The prepared containers must be filled with soil. To do this, you can use a ready-made potting mix or make it yourself. The composition of the soil for growing cucumber seedlings should include: earth, humus, mineral fertilizers, lime.

In containers filled with soil, cucumber seeds "Bunch splendor f1" are sealed by 1-2 cm, then poured abundantly with warm boiled water, covered with protective glass or foil. Sowings of seedlings are placed in a warm place until the emergence of shoots. At the first appearance of the cotyledon leaves, the containers are freed from the protective film (glass) and are installed in a lighted place with a temperature of 22-23 0FROM.

Seedling care consists in regular watering and spraying. When two full-fledged leaves appear, the cucumber can be planted in the ground.

Important! Variety "Bunch splendor f1" can be sown in the ground directly with seed, without preliminary cultivation of seedlings. In this case, the fruiting period will come 2 weeks later.

Planting seedlings in the ground

For picking seedlings, it is necessary to make holes and moisten them in advance. Cucumbers in peat containers are immersed in the ground with them. The plant is removed from other containers while preserving the earthen coma on the root. After placing the root system in the hole, it is sprinkled with earth and compacted.

Important! It is better to plant cucumber seedlings in the evening, after sunset.

It is necessary to plant cucumbers of the "Bunch splendor f1" variety with a frequency of no more than 2 bushes per 1 m2 soil. After diving into the ground, the cucumbers must be watered daily, subsequently watering the plants is carried out, if necessary, once a day or once every 2 days.

Bush formation

The f1 tufted splendor is a highly growing crop and therefore needs to be formed into a single stem. This will improve lighting and nutrition of the ovaries. Forming a cucumber of this variety involves two steps:

  • starting from the root, in the first 3-4 sinuses, lateral shoots and emerging ovaries should be removed;
  • all lateral shoots located on the main lash are removed during the entire growth of the plant.

You can see the process of forming cucumbers into one stem in the video:

Feeding an adult plant, harvesting

It is recommended to feed an adult cucumber with nitrogen-containing and mineral fertilizers. They are brought in every 2 weeks, until the end of the fruiting period. The first complementary feeding must be carried out at the initial stage of the formation of ovaries. Fertilizing after harvesting the first crop will contribute to the formation of new ovaries in the "spent" sinuses. Each fertilization should be accompanied by abundant watering.

Timely collection of ripe cucumbers allows you to accelerate the ripening of younger fruits, thereby increasing the yield of the plant. So, picking cucumbers should be carried out at least once every 2 days.

The f1 Tufted Splendor is a unique cucumber variety that is capable of producing a huge harvest with an amazing vegetable flavor.It is adapted to harsh climatic conditions and allows the inhabitants of Siberia and the Urals to be content with amazing harvests. Observing the simple rules for forming a bush, and providing regular feeding, even a novice gardener will be able to get a huge harvest of cucumbers of this variety.

Testimonials

Larisa Pavlova, 39 years old, Kupino
On the advice of a friend, this year I planted the "Sheaf Splendor" variety in a greenhouse. I grew seedlings at home and only at the end of May dived into the ground. The harvest after planting appeared quickly enough, its volumes pleasantly surprised me. Cucumber of this variety takes up little space, but at the same time bears fruit very plentifully, which is very good for greenhouse conditions. For the future, this bunchy variety is taken by me for a note.
