Eggplant Caviar F1

Caviar F1 is a mid-season hybrid suitable for growing both in greenhouses and outdoors. The hybrid has a high yield - almost 7 kg per 1 sq. m.

Description

Eggplant Caviar F1 with dark purple pear-shaped fruits is suitable for making caviar and home canning. The pulp is white, almost without seeds and bitterness.

With proper care, a sprawling plant with bright green leaves grows. Before planting eggplants, it is necessary to install a support for tying, since the fruits are quite weighty (up to 350 g) and the bush can fall under their weight.

Growing and care

In May, this hybrid can already be sown in the greenhouse. When grown outdoors, eggplant seedlings are planted in early March, and at the end of May, the sprouts can already be taken out into the open ground. Sowing depth - no more than 2 cm. Seeds of any variety or hybrid of eggplant are recommended to be checked for germination and germinate before planting. This video contains a lot of useful information about planting eggplants.

The seedlings of the hybrid are periodically watered with mullein solution. When watering, care must be taken not to erode the soil around the sprouts.

Important! The seeds of the Ikornyi F1 hybrid are obtained by selection. This means that the seeds that can be harvested from ripe fruits are not suitable for subsequent plantings.

If you plan to grow this variety for next year, then you should be prepared for the fact that the seeds will need to be purchased in the store.

Greenhouse soil preparation

It is recommended to disinfect the greenhouse soil before planting this type of eggplant. The prepared and fertilized soil is heated in an oven or treated with steam or boiling water. Spraying and watering the soil for eggplants with a solution of formalin or bleach is effective for the prevention of diseases such as late blight and black leg. The optimal planting density is no more than 4-5 plants per 1 sq. m.

This hybrid loves moist soil saturated with mineral and organic fertilizers. A greenhouse eggplant variety does not need constant lighting, and for full fruiting, it needs a short daylight hours. It can be created artificially by shading the garden bed.

Top dressing

Fertilizing the soil with mineral and organic fertilizers should be carried out no later than 15-20 days before the expected harvest. Carrying out such procedures during the fruiting period negatively affects the taste. This is especially true for spraying eggplants with chemicals in order to prevent or control diseases and insect pests.

Testimonials

Anatoly, 46 years old, Kurgan region
I prefer greenhouse varieties or hybrids of eggplant, because in our climate, growing "blue" in the open field is a waste of time. I liked the Caviar F1 hybrid in appearance and taste. The heavy, fleshy fruits are well suited for caviar. The skin is tender, we did not peel it off. I did not do seedlings in the greenhouse. I immediately prepared a bed, and at a distance of 50-60 cm I made shallow holes and planted a seed in each. Since I always germinate the seeds before sowing, it was immediately clear which one would make sense. He covered only half of the pits with earth. He covered the bed with a film, after 20 days, poured it into the holes of the earth so that it covered the stem of the eggplant sprout to the cotyledon leaves. To prevent pests from attacking, I periodically sprayed the plants and greenhouse walls with garlic broth.

I liked the appearance and taste of caviar F1 and decided to try growing this variety last year. It was later that I found out that this is not a variety at all, but a hybrid.I have been planting eggplants for several years, I know how the land is prepared, what beds need to be made. I listened to the feedback from neighbors who have been successfully growing Caviar F1 for several years. The seeds that I bought in the store pleased me with friendly shoots. The eggplants grew well, but it was a surprise to me that the plant is so large, and the fruits are so heavy. Unknowingly, they did not take care of the props in advance, therefore, as the fruits went, they had to quickly build a trellis and tie bushes to it. Fruiting is scarce, but all this is more than compensated for by the size of the fruits. More than 20 kg of eggplant were harvested from one garden bed (about 14 bushes). This was enough for both caviar and salads.

Every year I plant several varieties of eggplant in the greenhouse. I liked the caviar F1 for its meatiness. The seeds of the hybrid are strong, germinate well. I make the soil for eggplants and other plants myself - I specially dug two holes in the backyard, and there I throw off foliage, sawdust, fertilizer from the store, cow and chicken manure. Then I water it with water and cover it with foil. I insist for a year, then shovel and mix with earth. And on such a soil, I grow healthy, strong eggplants. The Caviar F1 variety does not differ from other eggplant varieties by the principle of cultivation. Therefore, on one bed I can grow 5-6 species of this plant.
