Eggplant Bibo F1

Many gardeners plant several varieties of eggplant at once in their area. This makes it possible to enjoy this wonderful vegetable in the early months, late summer and autumn. Everyone chooses for himself exactly those types of eggplant that he likes. It is not uncommon to see white, black, purple and striped eggplants in the garden beds and greenhouses. Today we will talk about whites, or rather, about the Bibo F1 variety.

Eggplant Bibo

Description of culture

The Bibo F1 hybrid is early maturing, sown in February and March, and harvesting can be planned in August - September. Eggplant can be grown both outdoors and in a greenhouse.

Eggplants are planted according to the following sowing scheme: no more than 65 cm between rows and no more than 35 cm between plants in a row. No more than 4 - 6 bushes sit per 1 square meter, since the lack of space can play a cruel joke with the plant and there will simply not be a harvest. Sowing is carried out to a depth of no more than 2 centimeters.

Important! In order to make the eggplant harvest as early as possible, you do not need to subject the seedlings to picking.

Bibo F1 is planted on those beds where carrots, melons, legumes, as well as dill and various types of salads were bearing fruit in the previous year.

The bush itself is medium-sized and reaches a height of no more than 90 cm. The fruits grow oval with an elongation of white. In structure, they are even, do not have a pronounced shine of the skin. The average size of a ripe eggplant is 18 cm in length and 8 cm in diameter, weighing approximately 350 grams. You can clearly see the culture in the video:

The pulp of the fruit is light, without pronounced bitterness, with excellent taste. Perfectly such eggplants are suitable for processing them for the winter, they are also used for stewing and cooking. In addition, they can be stored for a long time and are ready for transportation.

A feature of Bibo F1 eggplants is that they are capable of bearing fruit in extreme conditions and grow quickly. The culture has resistance to diseases such as mosaic, fusarium wilting.

Growing reviews

Many gardeners share their opinion about Bibo F1 eggplants. Some even give whole practical advice on growing and caring for the crop:

Elena Selivanova, Omsk
I have been growing eggplants for quite some time. I used to think, like, probably, many gardeners, that growing eggplants is a troublesome business, and it is extremely difficult to achieve a harvest. Yes, there were times like this, but I improved the technique every year and very soon began to receive a sufficient amount of ripe and tasty eggplants. In the last two years I have planted several varieties, some purple and the other white - Bibo F1. I start planting in mid-February. It is best to prepare the ground in advance in the fall or use a store when planting. Before sowing, I do not subject the seeds to soaking, since type F1 hybrids differ in that their yield and endurance are the highest than those of others, so they do not require special preparation. I sow seeds 1 cm deep into boxes of prepared soil, cover them with a layer of loose earth and cover them with cellophane. So they stand in my warm place until the sprouts appear. After the seeds sprout, I remove the cellophane and put the boxes on the sunny side so that the sprouts do not need to reach for the light. By April, I have plants ready for planting that require hardening. I harden them in the same way as all the other seedlings. They can be planted in the ground only after the frosts have passed and the earth becomes warm.A special tip when growing Bibo F1 eggplants is the constant collection of the Colorado potato beetle, which is very fond of eating eggplant leaves. They respect them even more than potatoes. Therefore, in the mornings and evenings, I look through the beds and collect all the pests. If it is not possible to cope with the beetles on my own, then I use spraying from pests. Last year, I began to plant marigolds, calendula or basil on the beds next to eggplants. Insects do not like the smell of these plants, so beetles are either absent altogether, or there are very few of them. The rest of the care is, as usual, weeding, watering and feeding. As I said earlier, my favorite variety is the Bibo F1 eggplant. The fruits of this culture are not blue, as we are used to, but white, very tasty and large, and also not at all bitter. This variety is quite heat-resistant, the plant has many leaves. I like white fruits not only for their taste, but also for the fact that they look very exotic in the garden. When growing eggplants, I do not use any secret or too complicated methods, but my family relishes itself on these delicious fruits every year, and there is enough for harvesting. By the way, I buy seeds only in stores, as a couple of times I bought them from collectors, but for some reason such eggplants did not take root and did not even produce fruits.

A variety of reviews about the Bibo F1 variety

These eggplants are one of the most popular among gardeners throughout Russia, whether in the southern territories or in the north, they perfectly take root in any climate. Here are just some rave reviews about this hybrid:

Anna Miklyaeva, Orenburg
I just adore this variety, it is my most basic one. My family and I pick eggplants early and enjoy their unique taste, while others are still waiting for the fruits.
Mikhail Vasyukov, St. Petersburg
It is not the first year that I have been planting Bibo and I can say that, in comparison with others, this variety, of course, wins in many ways. But only one thing confuses me - it's their white color, but I'm not used to such eggplants.
Olga Petrova, Tyumen
My husband is a Caucasian, so we often cook exactly Caucasian dishes, and they almost always contain eggplants. I use Bibo F1 and the food is excellent. And the husband says, with such eggplant dishes as in childhood.
Vera Guseva, Moscow city
For three years of my gardening experience, I can only say one thing - Bibo eggplants combine excellent taste and ease of growing. But maybe it's just for me to look after them. The only thing that worries me in the season of their fruiting is the army of Colorado beetles. I have not yet learned how to cope with them, but even when these insects eat the foliage, the eggplants continue to gain color and bear fruit.
Maria Kasatkina, Barnaul
I've been harvesting eggplants for a week and a half. For myself, I concluded that next year I will plant only Bibo.
Elvira Rakova, Vsevolozhsk
Bibo F1 was advised to me by a shop assistant, when I was new to gardening, I chose seeds for planting. Now I am very grateful to her, since these eggplants are just a miracle - there are not enough seeds, the pulp is tender, I twirled it for the winter and ate enough during the season.

Conclusion

You can grow any culture, but it is very difficult to grow it well, and it is also very difficult to get fruits. Eggplants are considered to be very finicky to grow. The Bibo F1 variety is a great option for beginners in the gardening business and those who are not used to spending their time on constant care without receiving fruits.
