What Entoloma Collected Looks Like

Medium-sized mushrooms do not have an attractive appearance to make you want to put them in a basket. By themselves, these gifts of the forest are not high, due to which it is not always possible to find them.

Description of the hat

The diameter of the cap of Entoloma, collected up to 5 cm. Its main characteristics:

  • in young representatives of the conical species, with a turned-up border;
  • in old ones it is open, sometimes almost flat or convex, with a small tubercle;
  • the top is smooth, in the middle there are small, fibrous scales;
  • skin tone is dark, brown-gray, brown;
  • the plates are frequent, do not touch the leg, young white, then gradually, as they grow older, they become richer - to a dark pink color;
  • the pulp of the collected Entoloma is saturated with moisture.

Leg description

The height of a thin, even leg of a cylindrical shape is 2-8 cm, diameter is from 2 to 7 mm. Downwards, the fibrous peduncle slightly widens, covered with weak pubescence. The surface color is brownish brown, sometimes dark gray. There is no ring.

Is the mushroom edible or not

Entoloma collected is inedible and poisonous. Such specimens are not suitable for food.

Warning! Before you go on a mushroom hunt, you need to carefully learn the photos of edible species that are found in the area. And it is better to ask experienced mushroom pickers to review everything collected in the basket.

Poisoning symptoms, first aid

When using a toxic species collected by Entoloma, the first signs of poisoning are noticeable after 1.5 hours. The condition worsens after a few hours:

  • the patient is sick;
  • the inflammatory process is affected by fever and severe colic in the abdomen;
  • frequent bowel movements;
  • hands and feet become cold;
  • the pulse is poorly felt.

It is necessary to drink plenty of fluids, the use of enterosorbents, gastric lavage and enema, if there is no administration. With a noticeable deterioration in the patient's condition, they are immediately sent to a medical institution. The loss of time with vivid symptoms of poisoning after eating forest gifts threatens not only with undermined health, but sometimes with death.

Where and how it grows

Poisonous entoloma is found in all areas of the European continent. The species lives on poor soils, in lowlands, even on mountain slopes. Appears from mid-summer to late September.

Doubles and their differences

There are no edible counterparts in Entoloma being harvested. There is a slight resemblance to the same poisonous Entoloma squeezed through, which is larger in size.

Conclusion

Entoloma collected can only be mistakenly caught among good mushrooms. Careful attention is required when collecting various species of the enthol family. It is better to take only familiar copies.
